Poultice Method to Remove Oil From Concrete

BEST THREE WAYS TO REMOVE OIL STAINS FROM CONCRETE

  1. Treat Oil Stain With A Poultice

For stubborn, small, fresh oil stains; use the poultice method. Mix an absorptive material such baking soda, sawdust or even kitty litter with a strong solvent like acetone, xylene or paint thinner and make a dense paste. Apply paste to oil stain and cover with a piece of plastic and tape. Leave overnight and wash are with hot water.

  2. Scrub with a Strong Household Detergent

For superficial oil stains, scrub the detergent to the oil spot with a stiff brush and rinse thoroughly

  3. Apply Concrete Cleaner and Degreaser

For large concrete areas use  ProClean Degreaser™. Concrete degreasers are organic alkaline cleaners that easily loosen and remove grease and motor oil stains from concrete. Depending on the stubbornness of the oil stain these cleaners can be diluted with water before application.
