Outdoor concrete ovens expand your patio living space and make the time you spend outside with friends and family that much more enjoyable. Here are a few suggestions to help navigate the colors and sealer choice for your next outdoor concrete kitchen design.
How To Fireproof Concrete Mix
For fireproof concrete mix 3 parts gravel, 2 parts sand, 2 parts refractory cement and 0.5 parts hydrated lime. Mix gravel and sand, then add refractory cement and hydrated lime. Mix well. Add water and mix making sure the mixture doesn’t have any dry pockets. Continue to add water one gallon at a time until the concrete is workable.
Concrete Oven Color Options
Concrete pizza ovens are most commonly colored using either concrete pigment added to the concrete mix prior to pouring or acid stain applied after the concrete surface has fully cured. Both products are a UV stable and appropriate for outdoor use.

What Are The Concrete Oven Sealer Choices?
The most appropriate sealer choice for a pizza oven would the Penetrating Concrete Sealer. Because it is absorbed entirely into the pores of the concrete, it forms no membrane on the surface and is not vulnerable to melting or discoloration. Keep in mind this is a matte sealer that affords little or no gloss after application.
