We originally tried to use paint rollers but that was a mistake. The paint rollers absorbed a lot of the stain so we went through it quickly and ran out of the maple and had to order more. We bought a paint sprayer and that made a world of difference! It was so much easier, faster, and more uniform (see the before and after pictures).
