How do I calculate cubic yards of concrete?
For a rectangular slab, multiply length in feet × width in feet × thickness in inches ÷ 12, then divide by 27. A 20 × 30 ft slab at 4 inches is 7.407 cubic yards before allowance, or 8.148 cubic yards with 10% extra. Your supplier can confirm the final order increment.
Why isn’t one coverage rate right for every product?
Coverage depends on the product, number of coats, and surface. The stain and sealer products included here start at 200 sq ft per gallon for two coats total. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed yield. Follow the selected product’s current instructions and adjust using a test area.
Can I stain concrete that is already sealed?
The penetrating stains in this tool need a properly prepared, absorbent surface. If your concrete is sealed, painted, or you are unsure, a Project Coach can help identify the coating and plan preparation or a compatible alternative.
Can I use concrete weight to calculate pigment?
Use the cement weight specified by your mix supplier and the dose for your chosen powder shade. Total concrete weight includes sand and aggregate, so it is not a substitute. Liquid pigments have separate instructions.
