Colored concrete sealer FAQ
AcquaTint is water-based and low odor, making it the primary choice for interior floors and occupied spaces. EasyTint is solvent-based and designed for durable exterior applications. Both add semi-transparent color and seal concrete in one system.
Yes. Concrete age, porosity, texture, existing color, and previous coatings change the final appearance. Each trial system lets you compare three colors on the actual prepared surface before buying project quantities.
EasyTint and AcquaTint are listed at approximately 200 square feet per gallon for two thin coats. Actual coverage varies with concrete porosity, texture, surface condition, and application method.
Only when the existing coating is firmly bonded, clean, dry, and chemically compatible. Failing, peeling, contaminated, or incompatible coatings must be stripped or mechanically removed before application. Always test adhesion in a small area.
A clear topcoat is not required for every low-traffic project. It is recommended for many high-traffic exterior surfaces and required when slip resistance is needed. Use water-based topcoats over AcquaTint and solvent-based topcoats over EasyTint.
No. Apply the colored sealer first, then add OxiGrip only to a compatible clear topcoat: AcquaSeal or HydroCryl over AcquaTint, or a clear solvent-based sealer over EasyTint.
EasyTint™ and OxiGrip™ are not compatible when used together directly. For slip resistance, use EasyTint™ as the color layer and apply OxiGrip™ only with a clear solvent based sealer as the topcoat.
AcquaTint™ and OxiGrip™ are not compatible when used together directly. If you need added slip resistance, apply AcquaTint™ as your color layer first, then use OxiGrip™ in a clear topcoat with AcquaSeal™ or HydroCryl™.
