| Product Type |
Trial-size, semi-transparent, solvent-based Antiquing™ stain for stamped concrete. |
| Best For |
Testing color and technique on a small sample area before committing to a full project. |
| What's Included |
Three - 4 oz Antiquing™ Stain in your color choice + a sample of compatible sealer (EasySeal™, AcquaSeal™ or HydroCryl™) |
| Recommended Uses |
Stamped concrete driveways, patios, pool decks, walkways, and other exterior concrete. Exterior use only. |
| Coverage |
A 4 oz trial covers roughly 6 sq. ft. for two coats (a small test section). Full size: ≈ 200 sq. ft. per gallon for two coats. Coverage varies with surface porosity and texture. |
| Surface Preparation |
Concrete cured 28+ days, clean and dry. Remove oil, grease, curing compounds, sealers, and incompatible coatings. Profile test: water should absorb within 3–5 min; if it beads, etch or mechanically abrade and retest. May not adhere to hard-troweled/smooth surfaces. |
| Mixing |
Shake/stir thoroughly before and during use. Do not thin or dilute. |
| Application Tools |
For a trial/small area, apply with a soft brush, sponge, or rag. (For full projects, use a pump-up sprayer with the filter removed.) |
| Application Temperature |
Air 40–95°F (4–35°C); surface 50–85°F (10–29°C). Apply to a cool surface, out of direct sun—early evening is best. Hot or sunny surfaces can cause bubbling and hazing. |
| Coats |
Apply 2 coats wet-on-wet (no drying between coats). |
| Re-Coat Time |
Additional coats may be applied immediately, without waiting. |
| Dry Time (before sealing) |
Allow the final coat to dry a minimum of 8 hours (longer in cool or humid conditions) so solvents fully evaporate. Sealing too soon can cause haze or poor adhesion. |
| Sealing |
Required. Antiquing™ Stain is not a sealer—unsealed surfaces will not show true color and color can wash off. |
| Recommended Sealers |
AcquaSeal™ or HydroCryl™ (water-based acrylic), or EasySeal™ (solvent-based acrylic). |
| Tool & Spill Cleanup |
Xylene, before the stain dries. |
| Removing a Test Spot |
Strip the sealer that locked in the color with Destiny™ Stripper, then neutralize with ProClean Neutralizer™ and rinse. Because Antiquing™ Stain penetrates the concrete, some color may remain; etch or lightly abrade to reduce it further. |
| Limitations |
Won't hide cracks, stains, blemishes, or surface irregularities. Not for interior use. Always test a small area first. |
| Ventilation & Safety |
DANGER: Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Combustible. Use only with adequate ventilation; wear a mask, safety glasses, and chemical-resistant gloves. Solvent-soaked rags can self-ignite—dry flat outdoors or seal in a water-filled metal container. |
| Storage / Shelf Life |
Use within 1 year of purchase. Store indoors, cool, away from direct sunlight, heat, and open flame. |
