PaveWave™ Paver Stain
PaveWave™ Paver Stain
- Water-based paver stain for projects that can't use solvent — Low-VOC, low-odor formulation for HOA-restricted, occupied, indoor, or environmentally-sensitive paver installations.
- Nano-pigment technology for richer color — Pigment particles small enough to penetrate deeper into the paver surface than standard oxide pigments, delivering slightly richer color saturation than conventional topical stains.
-
Coverage: 200 sq ft per gallon — Sold by the gallon. Requires sealer to bond the nano-pigment. For complete kits with matched sealer, see the PaveWave™ 2-Step Systems.
How much do I need to stain my concrete?
- It will depend on the square footage of your application.
- The coverage rate is 200 square feet per gallon (2 coats) depending on concrete porosity. Two or more coats are required.

PaveWave™ Water‑Based Paver Stain is a semi‑transparent, topical colorant developed specifically for concrete pavers and other rough, porous hardscapes. Using the natural porosity of pavers and their ability to absorb moisture, PaveWave™ infuses the surface with micronized pigments at a high pigment concentration, creating richer color saturation with fewer coats and without altering the underlying texture. The eco‑friendly, zero‑VOC formula allows you to revitalize faded patios, walkways, driveways and pool decks with vibrant, variegated tones while maintaining control over color depth and placement. Although highly pigmented, this water‑based stain remains easy to apply using a pump sprayer or roller and must be sealed once dry to lock in the color. Designed for exterior use, PaveWave™ integrates seamlessly with new or existing pavers. Its advanced polymer modification and high‑quality pigments ensure durability and consistent color even on high‑traffic surfaces.
PaveWave™ Stain MUST be sealed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is PaveWave™ and how does it differ from Portico™?
What is PaveWave™ and how does it differ from Portico™?
PaveWave™ is a water-based paver stain designed for coloring concrete pavers and outdoor concrete surfaces. While Portico™ is a solvent-based paver stain, PaveWave™ offers a water-based, low-VOC alternative with minimal odor. Both products use pigments that nest into the pores of the concrete surface and require sealing to hold the color in place.
Where can I apply PaveWave™?
Where can I apply PaveWave™?
PaveWave™ is designed for outdoor concrete surfaces including pavers, walkways, patios, driveways, and pool decks. It works well on porous and textured surfaces. As with all water-based products, the concrete must be clean, dry, and have adequate porosity for proper absorption.
Do I need to seal PaveWave™ after application?
Do I need to seal PaveWave™ after application?
Yes, sealing is required to preserve the pigment and protect the color from weather and foot traffic. Allow PaveWave™ to dry completely, then apply two thin coats of either AcquaSeal™ (water-based) or EasySeal™ (solvent-based) sealer. For outdoor surfaces, EasySeal™ is generally recommended for superior weather resistance.
What is the coverage rate for PaveWave™?
What is the coverage rate for PaveWave™?
The coverage rate is approximately 200 square feet per gallon for two coats. Coverage may vary depending on the porosity, texture, and condition of your concrete surface. Highly porous or textured pavers may require more product. We recommend rounding up on supply needs to ensure you have enough for your full project.
How do I apply PaveWave™?
How do I apply PaveWave™?
Apply PaveWave™ using a pump-up sprayer with the filter removed. Removing the filter is essential – if left in, the filter will trap the pigments and only the clear liquid will be sprayed. For smaller areas or detail work, a sponge or foam brush can also be used. Apply two coats for even coverage and allow adequate drying time between coats.
