Cinnabar is our warm brick red — the color customers reach for when faded pavers or a tired stamped patio need to look like clay again rather than concrete. It appears across Antiquing™, Portico™, and EasyTint™, and the projects below use all three.
Refreshed pavers in Cinnabar with a Charcoal border — texture, color, and finish.
Note on results: every photo here is a real customer project in Cinnabar. Our stains are semi-transparent, so the starting color and condition of your surface will influence the final look. Always test a small area first.

From neglected to respected: a 17-year-old paver patio
This 200 sq. ft. backyard patio had been power-washed repeatedly over the years but never properly sanded or sealed, so it never held up. The owner did it properly: cleaned the joints out, killed the moss, pressure-washed the paver tops, brushed a Charcoal border around the perimeter, then sprayed two full gallons of Cinnabar across the field.

“I brushed the charcoal onto the perimeter of the pavers to create a border. When that was dry, I sprayed 2 full gallons of the Cinnabar onto the rest of the pavers to get a deep rich result… Once it was perfect I swept grey polymeric sand into the joints, then sprayed water at least 6 times to make sure it had absorbed to the bottom of the joint. I dug up some joints with a metal pin to check how far the water got.” Tip: “The results are incredible and it wasn't that hard to do. The key is preparation and patience.” — DIY Customer

The non-slip lesson: “Even after sealing it with the grit from Direct Colors, it was still very slippery. I bought some grit from my local hardware store and used that in the second sealer coating and it came out very non-slippery.” Two coats of color and two of sealer. “This job took a while because of the rainy weather and trying to find a stretch of sunny days.” — DIY Customer
