Green is the colorant almost nobody asks for and the one that makes the most sense outdoors. A patio in a green earth tone reads as an extension of the planting around it rather than a slab dropped into a garden — colorful without being loud. These are customer projects in Fern Green and the browns that pair with it.

A stamped patio in three colors
Driftwood and Russet across the field with Fern Green worked through it — and the sealed photo is the one that shows why. Green on textured concrete disappears into the flats and collects in the stamped joints, which is exactly the effect you want from a color this unusual: present, but not announcing itself.

The same patio sealed — the green settles into the texture.
The colors that go with green
Green needs brown next to it on concrete. Without it the color reads as mint or institutional; with it, it reads as moss and bark. These are the pairings customers actually used.

A trial kit, used properly
This customer did the thing we always recommend and rarely see photographed: they bought a trial kit and put several colors down on the actual patio before committing. Driftwood, Cumin, Cafe Royale, Milano Red, Gray, Fern Green and Buff, all tested on the real slab in real light. An Antiquing™ Trial System is three colors plus a sealer, and it costs a rounding error against a patio.

Fern Green: FAQs
Can I still buy Fern Green?
Not in Antiquing™ — these projects used Antiquing™ Fern Green, which has since left that range. It now lives in AcquaTint™ PRO.
What colors go with green on concrete?
Brown, and it is not optional. Without brown next to it the green reads as mint or institutional; with it, it reads as moss and bark. Driftwood, Russet and Aztec Brown all work.
Where does green work best?
Textured exterior concrete, where it settles into the low spots. On a smooth slab there is nowhere for it to gather, which is what makes the color read naturally.
