Yukon Gold is a warm honey-gold — bright enough to lift a big expanse of gray concrete, and light enough that a pool deck in it does not turn into a hotplate in July. That last part comes up a lot: several of the projects below switched to Yukon Gold specifically because a darker stain had made their deck too hot to walk on. It is stocked as 430 Antiquing™, 730 Portico™, and 530 EasyTint™.

A Michigan pool deck that got too hot to use
This deck takes winters, wind, rain, and salt pool water. It had been done five years earlier in a darker tinted sealer that held up well — you can still see the darker patches where rugs and furniture sat — but the surface hit around 130°F on peak summer days. Yukon Gold was chosen as a warmer, lighter brown to fix exactly that.

Rolling out the second coat of Yukon Gold EasyTint™.
Tips: “If you don't have a good sprayer, we found the sealer just clogs and wasn't worth the time spent, which is why we rolled it and also didn't have to worry about over spray. 18 in rollers were great at getting more area done quickly, and if your patio gets too hot and your coat gets too thick, you will have bubbling.”

A first-timer's 2,000 sq. ft. Woodland Hills backyard
Ten years of California sun had bleached this stamped concrete out of its original Mesa Buff. The owner had never stained concrete before, ordered a sample kit, and went with Yukon Gold Antiquing™ and a solvent-based satin sealer. Half the job went on with a nap roller and half with a pump sprayer — which turned out to be the whole lesson.

Tips: “Buy a pump sprayer. (Important note: if you have acetone-based dyes in your stain or sealer, buy a pump sprayer that's acetone resistant, otherwise the acetone will ruin the sprayer hose, seals and gaskets.) Surface preparation is extremely important when it comes to your final overall look.”

A gold driveway with a black-tie edge
A refinished driveway on a Resurface-It™ overlay: Yukon Gold across the field, framed with a Black EasyTint™ border. The dark edge is what makes the gold read as deliberate rather than as faded concrete.

Yukon Gold blended 50-50 with Goldenrod
A mottled driveway and walkway made by mixing Yukon Gold and Goldenrod half-and-half in the sprayer — a simple way to get variation without applying two separate colors.
Note on Goldenrod: Goldenrod is no longer part of the Antiquing™ range. It is available today in EasyTint™, color 514.

Yukon Gold on pavers
On pavers the product is Portico™. This driveway used five colors — Driftwood, Aztec Brown, Khaki, Terracotta, and Yukon Gold — each paver stained individually and every edge run in Driftwood, then sealed gloss. The result matches the porch.

Honeycomb pavers in gold and Driftwood
Hexagonal pavers next to a garden bed, done in two EasyTint™ colors so no two neighbors match — visual interest for very little extra work.

Yukon Gold: FAQs
Which products come in Yukon Gold?
EasyTint™, Antiquing™ and Portico™. Yukon Gold is not offered as an AcquaTint™ or as a dye — for a broomed or stamped slab use Antiquing™ or EasyTint™, and for pavers use Portico™.
How long does a large Yukon Gold project take?
Less working time than you would think, and more drying time. The 1,400 sq. ft. pool deck took 3 days and about 20 man-hours for two people: two tinted coats on separate days, then clear EasySeal™ Satin, applied with 3/8 in. and 18 in. rollers and a brush — no sprayer. The 2,000 sq. ft. project took 7 days, of which only about 4 were working.
What prep did these projects need?
The 2,000 sq. ft. deck was power washed at 2,300 PSI, then paint stripper and a scrub brush. One pool deck also mixed OxiGrip™ anti-slip additive into the sealer, which is worth doing on anything that gets wet.
