Run the test in five steps

Pick a hidden spot
About 2 × 2 ft. Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Work outdoors or with good airflow, above 45°F.
Put it on thick
Roll or brush on a heavy, even coat. Don't spread it thin. Scrub it in with a coarse nylon brush.
Keep it wet
Shiny means it's working. Dull means it needs more. Softened coating is very slippery.
Scrape a corner
Every so often, scratch it with a putty knife. When the coating releases easily, note the time: that's your dwell time.
Clean up the spot
Scrape or hot-water pressure wash, wet-vac the slurry, then finish with the Neutralizer.

Don't let it dry. If Destiny dries before the coating comes off, the coating can bond back to the surface. On hot or windy days, cover the patch with plastic sheeting.

What your test tells you

It came off clean

Destiny works on your coating, and you know how long to let it sit.

A gallon covers about 150–225 sq ft indoors and 125–200 sq ft outdoors.

It turned gooey

That's normal on some coatings. Keep scrubbing and adding more until it turns liquid, then remove it.

It barely moved

Give it more time. Thick or layered coatings can take more than one application.
