Test EasyTint™ Colors Before You Buy a Full Gallon
The EasyTint™ Trial System is the smart way to test tinted concrete sealer colors before committing to a full project. It includes 3 of your choice EasyTint™ colors in 4 oz sample sizes and 3 foam brush applicators — everything you need to test colors on your actual concrete and see exactly how each one will look on your specific surface before ordering the full quantity.
Concrete varies more than most people realize. Concrete age, surface finish, porosity, and existing color all affect how a tinted sealer looks on your specific surface. The same EasyTint™ color can look noticeably different on a smooth-troweled new driveway than it does on an older, more porous patio, or on a stamped surface vs. a smooth one. Testing on your actual concrete is the only reliable way to predict your final color.
Why You Need to Test on Your Actual Concrete
The variables that affect how EasyTint™ looks on your specific surface include:
- Concrete age — Newer concrete has different surface conditions than older, more weathered concrete
- Surface finish — Smooth-troweled, broom-finished, stamped, and textured surfaces all hold tinted sealer differently
- Porosity — Some concrete is more porous than others, which affects how much sealer absorbs vs. sits on the surface
- Existing color — Concrete that started as light gray looks different after EasyTint™ than darker integrally-colored concrete
- Texture — Stamped or textured surfaces show tinted sealer differently than smooth surfaces
Testing 3 EasyTint™ colors on your actual concrete shows you exactly what each color will look like. The Trial System lets you see the result — including the satin finish — before you commit to a full gallon.
Why Testing Saves You Money
A gallon of EasyTint™ costs significantly more than the Trial System. If you order a full gallon, apply it, and discover the color isn't what you expected, removing a bonded solvent-based sealer requires stripping with Destiny™ Stripper and starting over. The Trial System is the insurance policy against that expensive mistake.
How to Use the Trial System
- Pick your test area carefully. Choose an inconspicuous section of your actual concrete — a driveway edge that will be covered by plantings, a hidden corner of a patio, or a piece of scrap concrete from the same pour. Test on the actual surface you plan to seal, not a different slab.
- Clean and prep the test area the same way you'd prep your finished project — degrease and rinse thoroughly. If the area is sealed or coated, use Destiny™ Stripper first.
- Mark out 3 test sections. Label them so you remember which color is which.
- Apply each EasyTint™ sample with a separate foam brush. Never reuse a brush across colors.
- Allow to cure for 24–48 hours to see the final cured appearance and satin finish.
- Compare the results and pick your color. Once you've chosen, order the full-size EasyTint™ Tinted Concrete Sealer.
⚠ Solvent Safety Applies to the Trial Too
Even at trial quantities, EasyTint™ is solvent-based. Apply in a well-ventilated area, wear chemical-resistant gloves and safety glasses, and keep away from ignition sources.
Direct Colors: Made in the USA Since 1997
The EasyTint™ Trial System contains the exact same EasyTint™ formulation as the full-size product — just in sample quantities. What you see in the trial is what you'll get on the full project.

⚠️ Important: When You Need a Clear Topcoat Over EasyTint™
EasyTint™ is a complete color-and-seal product for most applications. For many residential patios, walkways, and low-traffic exterior surfaces, two coats of EasyTint™ is the finished job. However, a clear topcoat is either recommended or required in certain situations:
| Application | Topcoat Needed? | What to Use |
|---|---|---|
| Interior floors (general) | Recommended | ProWax Polish™ — acts as a sacrificial layer that protects the color finish from daily foot traffic. Easy to reapply as it wears. |
| Exterior low-traffic (patios, walkways) | Not required | EasyTint™ alone is sufficient |
| Exterior high-traffic (driveways, commercial) | Recommended | A clear solvent-based concrete sealer for added durability |
| Slip resistance required (pool decks, stairs, ramps) | Required | Clear solvent-based concrete sealer + OxiGrip™ slip-resistant additive |
