Barn to beauty parlor: a pet grooming haven
From hay and hooves to brushes and bows — this converted barn now works as a pet grooming salon, with plain concrete turned into a marbled green floor: an EverStain™ Malayan Buff base with a splash of Avocado over the top, then sealed. OxiGrip™ anti-slip additive went into the sealer, which matters in a space full of wet dogs.

A straightforward barn project that came down to one thing: thorough cleaning before application. The rich Avocado hue suits the rustic character of the building.
A custom outdoor basketball court
An outdoor court became genuinely one of a kind: DecoGel™ Coffee Brown for crisp line detailing, EverStain™ Avocado for the court surface, then neutralized and sealed for durability. DecoGel™ is the gel-bodied acid stain — it stays where you put it, which is exactly what line work needs.
Tranquil transformation: a garage becomes a massage studio
A massage therapist converted a storage and laundry room into a home studio. All the ceramic tile came up, a grinder smoothed and patched the slab, then Avocado went down in splotches as an accent with Malayan Buff blended in around it — two coats, then neutralized and sealed.
Tip: “Make sure you rough up the surfaces so that the colors can take in different tones.”

A complete walkout basement overhaul
An unfinished walkout basement became two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large game room — 1,400 square feet of Avocado. This project is also the best cautionary tale we have about concrete dust.
Tips: “We ordered the three sample colors… the third 'throwaway' color ended up being our favorite. If you are doing more than about 400 sq. ft., consider renting some power equipment.”

A patina-inspired shop floor
A first-time acid-stain user layered Malayan Buff and Avocado to chase a patina look that would sit right against his rusted shop walls — and nailed it across 625 square feet.
Tips: “Study the preparation tips in the how-to guide… Study the application and dry times to make sure you have time to spray and neutralize within the recommended window — I didn't realize different colors had different dry times and ended up out in my shop neutralizing and cleaning till midnight one night. And don't be discouraged by what the floor looks like before sealing; it will gain its color with the sealer. Don't forget the spike shoes, and use them during etching so you don't have footprints to clean up and sand.”

Basement renovation with a classic touch
Twenty years after building the house with no plans for the basement, this homeowner changed their mind. They rejected both big-box 'concrete stain' (it looked like paint) and contractor epoxy (too much garage-floor look), and committed to doing it properly with Malayan Buff, Avocado, and Seagrass — three spray bottles worked across the floor to a design.
Tips: “More and bigger fans when dry sanding. Don't sand unless you have to. Drywall mud must be removed down to bare concrete. Rinse and scrub the acid residue until the floor passes the white-glove test. Have a spare acid sprayer available — you don't want to be mid-spray and have an issue. Cheap insurance.”

Multicolor stencil magic: a screened porch

What is Avocado usually layered with?
Malayan Buff, in almost every project here — either as a base with Avocado splashed over the top, or layered for a patina look. Seagrass joins it for green-on-green depth, and Desert Amber gives an earthier, low-sheen result under a matte penetrating sealer.
Does a power-troweled slab need special prep for Avocado?
Yes. The 1,400 sq. ft. walkout basement in this gallery used CitrusEtch™ hard-trowel surface prep on a power-troweled slab — a closed surface will not take stain evenly without it. That project is also the best cautionary tale here about concrete dust.
Will Avocado look like these photos on my concrete?
EverStain™ is semi-transparent, so the starting color and condition of your slab shape the result. Test first — one first-time user in this gallery was chasing a patina to match rusted shop walls, which is exactly the kind of target you cannot hit without a sample.
