What is PaveWave™ and how does it differ from Portico™?

PaveWave™ is a water-based paver stain designed for coloring concrete pavers and outdoor concrete surfaces. While Portico™ is a solvent-based paver stain, PaveWave™ offers a water-based, low-VOC alternative with minimal odor. Both products use pigments that nest into the pores of the concrete surface and require sealing to hold the color in place.

Where can I apply PaveWave™?

PaveWave™ is designed for outdoor concrete surfaces including pavers, walkways, patios, driveways, and pool decks. It works well on porous and textured surfaces. As with all water-based products, the concrete must be clean, dry, and have adequate porosity for proper absorption.

Do I need to seal PaveWave™ after application?

Yes, sealing is required to preserve the pigment and protect the color from weather and foot traffic. Allow PaveWave™ to dry completely, then apply two thin coats of either AcquaSeal™ (water-based) or EasySeal™ (solvent-based) sealer. For outdoor surfaces, EasySeal™ is generally recommended for superior weather resistance.

What is the coverage rate for PaveWave™?

How do I apply PaveWave™?

Apply PaveWave™ using a pump-up sprayer with the filter removed. Removing the filter is essential – if left in, the filter will trap the pigments and only the clear liquid will be sprayed. For smaller areas or detail work, a sponge or foam brush can also be used. Apply two coats for even coverage and allow adequate drying time between coats.
