The EverStain™ 3-Step Professional System is the contractor-scale concrete acid stain kit for large jobs: full-room interior floors, large patios, commercial flooring, multi-bay garages, and any acid stain project covering up to 1,000 square feet. It includes 5 gallons of EverStain Acid Stain in your color choice, 5 gallons of matched concrete sealer, and 1 quart of ProClean™ Neutralizer concentrate — the same chemicals as the 200 sq ft kits, scaled up for jobs that need contractor quantities.

Total coverage: approximately 1,000 square feet of standard interior or exterior concrete.

Why Contractors Buy the Professional System

Lowest per-square-foot cost — Buying EverStain in 5-gallon containers cuts the per-gallon price significantly compared to single-gallon orders. For any job over 400 sq ft, the Professional System is more economical than buying multiple 200 sq ft kits.

Color consistency across the entire job — Acid stain reacts slightly differently from batch to batch even within the same color, depending on production lot and storage conditions. A 5-gallon container is one consistent batch, which means a 1,000 sq ft floor stained from one container will have uniform color across the entire surface. Mixing multiple 1-gallon containers risks visible "shift lines" between sections, especially on large open floors.

One delivery, one job — Contractors don't have time to wait on backordered components mid-project. The Professional System ships every chemical needed for a 1,000 sq ft acid stain in one shipment, so you can schedule the job with confidence.

The right sealer at the right scale — The sealer is matched to EverStain and shipped in the same 5-gallon format. No mismatched products, no guessing how much sealer to order.

What This System Does Not Include

The Professional System is chemicals only — it does not include application tools, surface prep, or PPE. Most contractors and pros already have:

  • Plastic pump sprayers (need at least 2 — one for stain, one for sealer)
  • Spiked shoes for walking on wet stain and sealer
  • ProClean Degreaser for surface prep
  • CitrusEtch for sealed concrete (if needed)
  • Safety glasses, gloves, and respirator

If you need any of these, they're sold individually:

Why Sealer Is Required Even at Contractor Scale

Acid stain creates permanent color through chemical reaction — but until that color is sealed, it looks faint, dusty, and washed-out. Sealer is what makes the color "pop." This is true at every scale, from a 200 sq ft DIY project to a 10,000 sq ft commercial floor. Sealer deepens color saturation, brings out the marbled variegation, and reveals the rich tones the EverStain reaction has created underneath.

For contractor-scale jobs, the sealer also protects against the kind of foot traffic, equipment movement, and weather exposure that commercial floors and large patios see. Skipping or under-applying sealer is the fastest way to turn a beautiful acid stain job into a callback from an unhappy client.

This is why the Professional System ships matched 5-gallon quantities of sealer alongside the EverStain. You're getting the right product, in the right amount, paired to your color choice.

How to Use the Professional System

The application process for the Professional System is the same as the 200 sq ft kits, scaled up for the larger surface area:

  1. Surface prep — Clean, degrease, and etch as needed.
  2. Apply EverStain Acid Stain with plastic pump sprayers. For 1,000 sq ft, plan on multiple sprayer fills and work in manageable sections to maintain a wet edge.
  3. Allow the reaction to develop for 4–24 hours.
  4. Neutralize with ProClean Neutralizer (1 qt concentrate covers 1,000 sq ft when mixed per instructions).
  5. Allow to dry completely — usually 24 hours.
  6. Seal with the included sealer. This is when the color pops.

Direct Colors: Made in the USA Since 1997

Direct Colors has supplied professional contractors with concrete acid stain in contractor quantities for over 25 years. The EverStain Professional System uses the same EverStain, sealers, and ProClean Neutralizer specified by working contractors on commercial decorative concrete projects across the country.

This is the system Direct Colors recommends for working contractors, decorative concrete professionals, and serious DIYers tackling large-scale acid stain projects. The 5-gallon container size delivers the lowest per-square-foot cost in the EverStain lineup and ensures color consistency across the entire job — critical for large floors where multiple smaller batches risk visible color variation between sections.
