INTEGRALLY COLORED CONCRETE VANITY
Integral Concrete Pigments act like a dye for your wet cement. Simply add any color pigments to your concrete mix and pour your way to stunning colored concrete countertops. The pigment colors the concrete completely, from the inside out, offering consistent, even tones across the slab. Direct Colors pigments are of high quality, dry, light-fast, odorless, alkali, weather resistant, UV stable, non-hazardous, chemically inert and water-insoluble.
The principle advantage of integral pigments is that it colors the concrete throughout so even if damaged or worn, the color remains unchanged.
DIY SPOTLIGHT ON INTEGRALLY COLORED CONCRETE COUNTERTOPS
GRAY CONCRETE VANITY
This concrete countertop project with integrated sink, submitted by R. Sanecki of Bensenville, IL., offers a stylish, functional design creating a “modern” look in the bathroom.
Our customer added Direct Colors Battleship Gray 230 concrete pigment to our Gray-Based Concrete Countertop Mix to achieve a charcoal color.
The countertop was then sealed our Penetrating Concrete Sealer, Hardener & Densifier and wet polished with diamond polishing pads to expose some of the sand but not the heavy aggregate.
“The final finish was to be a flat to semi-gloss so that the countertop would keep its natural stone appearance”
Direct Colors Natural Concrete Countertop Wax was applied for the final clean look.
“I played around with smaller table tops in the past, but this was the first time I attempted an integrated sink. I was very happy with the results. I’m already working on my next project, the upstairs bathroom. I have some cool ideas for a countertop design that should be a hit (with my wife). Currently polishing some sample pieces to see if my idea looks good. It will take twice as long for this project. But I expect that it will be well worth it in the end. Thanks for your help.”
WHITE CONCRETE COUNTERTOPS
White is a favorite color for kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities but it’s not always easy find the materials you need to make a truly white concrete countertop
