Acid Stain Concrete application allows you to infuse vivid, colorful tones into concrete and cement surfaces. Unlike expensive building materials, like granite and quartz, concrete provides users with an affordable way to create distinct and beautiful designs at a fraction of the cost. Acid Stain styles mimic everything from marble to natural stone and even stained wood, with results that deliver a 100% custom look every time.

Each concrete acid stain creates uneven color effects that simulate the natural shadings and aged appearance of stone or masonry. The color effect is unique to each stained surface and cannot be duplicated with other materials.

Direct Colors Concrete Acid Stains are composed of a unique concentrated formulation of blended metallic salts in an acidic water-based solution. These metallic salts penetrate and react with the minerals in the concrete to deposit the colors into the concrete pores. Each color is composed of a complex proprietary formulation that contains no pigments or resins. When highlighted with the proper sealer, this effect provides a natural and attractive glow that will not chip off.

What Types of Concrete Surfaces Can be Stained?

New, old, smooth, and rough concrete can all be acid-stained. However, we recommend you carefully review the pre-application tests to accurately characterize if your slab is a good candidate for staining. Every concrete slab, countertop, and piece of décor is different; some concrete will stain better than others. Always conduct a small test area to evaluate reactivity and color development before beginning your project.
