EasyTint™ Colored Sealer is a one-step concrete stain and sealer for exterior cement surfaces. Restore faded exterior concrete color or quickly add color to high-traffic commercial floors. EasyTint™ is not paint. EasyTint™ remains translucent and do not completely hide imperfections in the concrete. The colors on the Direct Colors EasyTint™ Color Chart have been achieved on smooth gray concrete. Unless applied on a new and cured gray concrete surface, the tinted sealer colors will appear different from the color chart. The color will vary depending on the existing concrete surface conditions such as age, texture and previous color.

    Quick Facts

    Application Tool:  pump sprayer
    Location: exterior surfaces
    Dry Time: 24-48 hours
    Cleanup: xylene
Coverage: Approximately 200 sq. ft. per gallon depending on concrete porosity
Recommended Uses: exterior concrete floors such as patios, driveways and pool decks.

Use a Concrete Cleaner and Degreaser to clean and prepare your concrete for staining. Paint, oil, and other materials on your  concrete won’t allow EasyTint™ to bond. So, in order to get the best result possible, these materials need to be cleaned from the surface. A Cleaner and Degreaser, used along with a Medium Bristle Scrub Brush, will easily remove any unwanted materials from your concrete. Once the surface has been cleaned and swept free of dust and debris, let it dry completely before proceeding to apply EasyTint™.

    APPLYING EasyTint

With any DIY project, safety should be your number one priority. When applying EasyTint™ or any concrete coloring product, it’s important to take precautions to ensure your safety, and the safety of those around you.

Wear a Dust Mask and Safety Gloves to prevent fume inhalation and skin irritation from direct contact with the stain.

Spiked Shoes should be used in concrete staining projects to prevent footprints and slipping when applying the stain. EasyTint™ must be shaken vigorously before application. The spiked Shoes will allow you to walk across and around your project area without affecting your previous layer.

EasyTint™ is available in 29 unique colors. A gallon of EasyTint™ is enough to complete a 200 square foot project. This amount of stain accounts for two thin coats for outdoor concrete. Shake the bottle of EasyTint™ to mix the colorant. Open the lid and pour the Tinted Sealer into a Pump Up Sprayer.

Shake the pump sprayer filled with EasyTint™. Use the pump to increase the pressure, and start spraying.

Spray EasyTint™ in an even thin layers across the entire concrete surface. Applying a thick coat will result in an inconsistent finish with tacky areas that may not set-up correctly. Be sure to shake the pump sprayer periodically to avoid clumping around the nozzle.

Allow the first coat of EasyTint to dry for at LEAST to 4-6 hours before applying second coat.

Apply 1 - 2 coats of clear sealer over EasyTint™ for enhanced durability. Our Solvent-Based, Satin Acrylic Sealer is the perfect product to finish your outdoor concrete stain project. To apply the Direct Colors’ Solvent-Based Satin Acrylic Sealer, first pour the product into a Sealer Pump Sprayer. Put on your Dust Mask, Safety Gloves and Spiked Shoes. Evenly apply 1 - 2 coats of sealer. Allow each coat of concrete sealer at least 6 hours to dry before applying a second  layer.

If staining older or previously colored concrete, it is highly recommended to test color before proceding to a full project.

For staining concrete pool decks, we recommend adding anti-slip grip additive to a clear top coat of concrete sealer for extra safety

    Recommended Uses

Tinted Solvent-Based Sealers are best applied using a pump-up fence and deck sprayer using the red tip. Attempting to roll a clear coat may cause color lift and streaking.

Tinted Water-Based Sealer should be applied with a pump-updeck sprayer and can be back rolled with a fully saturated de-fuzzed 3/8″ nap roller. Keep the roller evenly and consistently loaded with sealer at all times during application to avoid roller marks and streaking.

DO NOT apply Water-Based Sealer if the surface temperature is under 60°F with an air temperature difference of 5 degrees or less. Central heating, radiant or convection heaters, or similar heating devices should be turned off during application. In-floor heating should be set at 60-65 degrees before and turned off during the application process. Do not allow to freeze.

    •  Outdoor concrete requires two tinted sealer coats and one clear sealer coat for added durability and more even wearing over time.

    • The clear top coat should be reapplied once every two years for most outdoor areas.

    • Indoor floors should be waxed after applying two tinted sealer coats.

    • Concrete wax should be reapplied over the life of the floors as often as needed to protect the underlying sealer.

Sealers should be applied with either a pump-up sprayer or a short-nap roller (approximately 3/8″) or less. For best results with a roller, use the pan grid to purge the roller of all excess sealer and apply with slow, even strokes. Sealer bubbles, should they occur, can be removed with a hair dryer set to cool or a clean leaf blower set to low speed.

All Direct Colors Tinted Concrete Sealer products must be shaken well before and during use to insure even pigment distribution during application.

Generally, the thinner the application, the stronger and more durable the sealer will become. Applying a thick coat will result in an inconsistent finish with tacky areas that may not set-up correctly. Allow solvent-based sealers to dry for AT LEAST 4-6 hours between coats. Water-based sealers should be given up to 24 hours to set-up between coats. If you live in a humid climate or the weather conditions are damp and overcast, give the surface additional time to dry.

DO NOT walk on wet sealer as it will leave permanent impressions on your surface. Cover your feet with plastic bags to protect your floor's finish during application.

Indoor applications require either a commercial or residential wax to protect your sealer from daily wear and tear.

Concrete Wax and Floor Polish products are water-based and should be applied using a mop with a hand wringer or with the applicator of your choice.

Commercial wax intended for business use or for homes with indoor dogs and should be buffed after the initial application.
